Careers Support

Sixth form tutors will be taking students through careers support and guidance over the course of their 2 years studying with us. If students would like a bespoke 1-1 session at any time other than the careers program planned just let tutors know!

Careers support we can offer:

  • One to one careers guidance available with independent and impartial Careers Adviser
  • Guidance available with Rivers Sixth Form staff and members of the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Work experience and work shadowing opportunities
  • UCAS preparation and application support
  • Writing personal statements support
  • Higher education evening – preparation for going to university including finance
  • Higher education visits e.g. university tours
  • Attendance at the National Apprenticeship Show face to face or virtually
  • Higher Apprenticeship information & application support
  • Degree Apprenticeship assembly
  • CV Writing workshop
  • Interview skills workshop
  • Job hunting workshop
  • Access to mock interviews with employers
  • Opportunity to take part in the NCS programme, RYLA and Camps International
  • Access to HE student conferences e.g. Getting into Medical school
  • Opportunity to gain skills for employment e.g. driving skills, lifesaving skills
  • Mentoring available
  • One to one careers guidance available with independent Level 6, impartial Careers Adviser
  • Access to careers drop sessions during break and lunchtimes on Wednesdays
