Further to the announcement by Gavin Williamson, Secretary of State for Education, we have been instructed to close the Academy from the end of the day on Friday. We have been busy, working in the background, in readiness for this eventuality and we will now be pushing the button on a number of contingency plans.
Please be patient with us. We will be communicating plans over the next 24 hours but we need a little time to gather our thoughts, talk to staff and make sure we update everyone in a calm and clear way. We will continue to operate for all year groups except Year 8 and 9.
We are unable to answer any questions about the closure or the repercussions until we have received further guidance from the Department for Education and our sponsor, Ormiston Academies Trust.
We are awaiting guidance from the Department for Education on exams and are unable to speculate, we will update you as soon as we know anything.
Further to this statement, as soon as we have a list defined by the government what they class as a key worker; a google form will be shared for you to complete.
The health and wellbeing of students regardless of whether they are in our care or not is always paramount and will continue to be. I will write again shortly.
