Update for families on COVID-19 precautionary measures in school:
The safety and care of our learners and staff is paramount. Today we have introduced some precautionary measures to limit transmission of any potential infection in school.
From today, learners will be asked to remain out doors during breaks except for access to the canteen and food areas. The field is open and they will be allowed supervised return to the school building for purchasing refreshments from the canteen and access to the toilets.
The water fountains around the school will be shut from today as these are shared surfaces, frequently used by more than one person, therefore carrying a greater risk of transmission. Water is available from the canteen but families are advised moving forward that children should bring sufficient water into school to last the day.
Our cleaning team are continually sanitising handles and shared surfaces around the building, and we will monitor the situation over the coming days, responding to Government and Local Authority guidance. With children outside during break and lunch, this gives the team easier access to sanitise throughout the day.
This situation is unprecedented and decisions made are in the best interests of our school community. We will update parent/carers through our social media, Email and text service as the situation changes. An email has gone out earlier regarding a google form to complete, please complete this as soon as possible.
Thanks for your continued support.
