Update Home Study Hub
26th March 2020
I am writing to make you aware of the launch of our new “Home Study Hub”.
The Hub is accessible from the school website home page and is designed to support all students and parents across many levels, as well as raising a smile. The Hub includes learning support links and several bespoke revision guides to keep even the most dedicated learner busy for months. And for those that want to dedicate more time to family there are other options in their ‘Widen My Horizons’ section, where students can choose from a wide range of immersive experiences and challenges which are being added to daily.
As you may be aware, the academy has a very strong social media presence which we update daily to keep everyone in touch via Instagram and Facebook; including sharing what staff and students have been up to with the hashtag #strongertogether. This has included feeding sheep, topiary, live dance classes and dj-ing. The new “Small but Smart” Pets corner is sure to raise a smile and we are asking for pictures and witty captions of the local community’s pets to add to the gallery. Please send your contributions to email@example.com
Wellbeing is at the heart of the Academy’s daily focus and we have set up a dedicated hotline for all students where they can access support in using the Hub and personally if needed at: firstname.lastname@example.org
In this period of uncertainty, I have been overwhelmed by the positivity of our students, staff and local community in how they are all supporting each other in various ways. Over the last week, our staff have taken food parcels to those families that need it the most, and have written resources and work for students so they can keep up to date with their studies. Our staff have been responding to individual emails and questions via google classrooms with compassion and support. As an academy we have set up a wellbeing classroom and a dedicated email account: email@example.com to support any student that may need advice or support. We have a dedicated, wellbeing First Aider who is answering any questions our students may have at this challenging time.
We have also encouraged students and staff to share photos of the creative ways they are working from home using our social media accounts: @oatOrmistonRivers and oat_ora.
As a community we will continue to work together to support all our students on site and at home. We are one family and we will stay stronger together.
