Sports Day 2019

Updated: Jul 22, 2019

On the 18th June Ormiston held their annual sports day in the build up to their district sports being held at Chelmsford just a week later.vStudents from the 4 houses: Amazon, Danube, Mekong and Zambezi faced off in a series of field and track events from the morning until lunch time. Amazon were the reigning champions after their success last year but would the other houses come back fighting to take the sports day trophy?

In the afternoon the entire school gathered around the track to support their fellow house members while the sprints and relays were contested.

The early events saw Zambezi and Amazon switching the lead between them before a dominant display in the field events saw Amazon take the lead before lunch.

After the break the scores didn’t change but instead we saw Amazon rack up a records points score to retain their trophy.

In total 12 athletic records were broken on sports day.

6th Form House Captain Cassidy Grantham and Head of House Mr Clay were very proud of their teams performance and unlike last year when Daube won the house cup, they hope this may help Amazon in their overall quest to win the house cup for the very first time.

All competitors should be proud of their efforts today and thank you for being part of a great day whilst doing your best for your respective house.

Good luck for 2020!
