Our mission for our Most Able is simple: To out-perform every school in Essex, including the selective grammar schools. In doing so, to ensure our students attend the very best Universities and enjoy top flight careers in whatever pathway they choose.
With this in mind we are delighted with the performance of our Year 11 Most Able cohort this year. The students put in stunning performances and we saw over 300 Top grades including over 50 of the highly prestigious grade 9's at GCSE. The Most Able had a Progress 8 score of nearly 0.6; meaning every student achieved nearly two thirds more on every subject than others in their prior attainment group nationally, stunning! This will put us amongst the best schools in Essex and nationally for this cohort.
Last year we started a new teaching and learning initiative in all our classrooms based on challenge and assessment. To support this independent learning outside of our classrooms is key and we endeavour to ensure every student knows how to stretch themselves outside of school. Students across the board have risen to the challenge and we are seeing stunning performances in every year group.
We also had our very first student become successful in the extremely competitive and prestigious entry process to medical school. Well done James!
This year we will see our first applicants to Oxford and Cambridge from our Sixth Form, they will be ably supported in the applications process by our Sixth Form team.
To support our classroom challenge we also have our:
Subject Scholar Initiative (launching in 6 weeks).
Year 11 Prefect Initiative (you will see successful applicants around school, they wear a double striped blazer).
