Monday 23rd March Update
Now that our community has entered the next phase in our fight against the COVID-19 virus, I will try to keep you updated on any news or developments in regards to the academy and its students.
Today saw the beginning of our new provision for students whose parents are key workers. The government asked parents to ensure that they only send their children into school if it was absolutely necessary. Our parents responded magnificently to that call by changing plans and arrangements to minimise those numbers. Today the students who attended completed all the google class work in an IT room.
In terms of Y11 GCSE results, Ofqual (the exam regulator) have tweeted today that they will provide specific detail on their plans for the awarding of grades later this week. As soon as we know anything we will pass on that information.
There has been a lot of engagement by students with their online learning. Codes to access the specific work can be found on our website and extra work booklets. We have also been sharing some of the photos you have been sending showing your creativity.
We also had the first day of our full free school meal service in action. All parents/carers that meet this criteria would have been contacted regarding a voucher for this. If you experienced any issues with this service or do not wish to receive the vouchers please contact A Mahoney.
Please encourage everyone in your family and community to follow the guidance of the government and ‘social distance’.
