The Musical Productions are legendary at Ormiston Rivers Academy. The performing arts team, under the leadership of Ms Carroll and now Mr Cecil, pride themselves on putting together productions of the highest quality, with audiences always commenting that the standard is as good as you would see on the West End. The productions, directed and produced by Ms Carroll are put together by a team of hugely experienced professionals who have worked in the industry and gained a wealth of experience to bring to the team. Students gain an incredible amount from working in such high quality and professional productions, which are always accompanied by a professional band, which our students often join as part of their musical apprenticeship. We also invite students from our local primary schools in years 5 and 6 to take part in a special junior cameo role each year, which is a special treat and helps our primary students prepare for what they can expect in secondary school when they join us. All around, the productions are not to be missed and always sell out, so get your tickets fast.
Our productions to date have been:
2009 Little Shop of Horrors
2009 Return to the Forbidden Planet

Harry Potter: The boy who lived, singled out by Lord Voldemort at birth to be his greatest rival, and our hero.
The story begins in a small house in Privet Drive, Surrey as Harry is about to celebrate his eleventh birthday. Harry has been living in a cupboard under the stairs in his Uncle and Aunts house and has never been treated well.
Everything is about to change. He will learn that he is not just a regular person and like his mother and father, he too is a wizard. He receives a letter that is an acceptance and invitation to study at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry which will change his life in an instant.
Upon arriving at Hogwarts, Harry is sorted into the Gryffindor House by the Sorting Hat. At Hogwarts, Harry will learn what it means to be Wizard. He will learn many things about wizardry from his teachers and Head Master, Dumbledore. He will learn that not all people come from wizard families. Some, called Muggles, will also study at Hogwarts. For the first time, he will meet and make friends. Hermione Granger (Muggle born) and Ron Weasley (Wizard), will help Harry through a most challenging few years at Hogwarts.
During his time at Hogwarts he learns more about his past and the death of his parents. Not only that they were wizards but that they died at the hands of a wizard practicing dark magic: Voledmort. Voldemort attempted to kill Harry but instead of Harry dying, Voldemort lost his powers. Harry is reminded of that fateful night each time he looks in the mirror and sees a lightning bolt scar on his forehead.
Harry will experience many life threatening situations at Hogwarts. These situations will arise as he comes to learn more about Voldemort and those that follow him. Every experience Harry, Hermione, and Ron find themselves in, will bring Harry closer to the one that must not be named, Voldemort.
