Welcome to your Home Study Hub
During these unprecedented times we want to make sure that you do not miss out on your learning and our school community. We are #strongertogether while we #staysafestayhome. We are here for you, everyday!
All the instructions for accessing all your learning are here, alongside other challenge and horizon expanding ideas. We'll update this Hub regularly. Enjoy your learning from home, don't pressurise yourself if you get behind or finish quickly and have lots of spare time some days. That's ok! You will see from the links above that there are lots of challenge activities on here if you want to exercise your brain. And if you want to widen your horizons we've got ideas for that too (and we promise they are fun!) Enjoy spending time with your families, they are your world, tell them and show them, a kind word or a surprise cup of tea and a biscuit goes a long way : )
On that note, the fabulous Mrs Hyde has put together this simple step by step guide so you can all make your parents and loved ones 'a brew'! Thanks Miss : )
Oh... and follow us on Instagram if you want to keep in touch daily (we listened to you and set up the Insta account for you, we know only Parents follow us on Facebook!) @oat_ora
Free online GCSE Maths lessons for year 10 and year 11 students
To help support you all with your studies at home, Pearson are launching free online GCSE Maths lessons.
What you need to know:
1) These lessons will be going live from the Pearson UK Learning YouTube channel this week and focus on problem-solving and real-world maths.
2)The 45-minute lessons from a subject expert, Grahame Smart, will be live, interactive and showcase maths and problem-solving at work in the world.
3)There’ll be one live Year 10 lesson and one live Year 11 lesson available to join each week. Both lessons focus on problem-solving and reasoning but are tailored to the different stages of maths learning so you can choose the ones that are right for your students. As you are due to sit your exams next year, you should be engaging in both the Year 10 and Year 11 lessons.
4)Students can use the lessons at a time that suits – be it joining the livestream on YouTube or viewing the recordings afterwards.
You can access Pearson UK Learning YouTube channel using the following link:
5) The Year 10 lessons will be live every Tuesday while the Year 11 lessons will be live every Thursday. To access the timetable for each year group please use the following link:
