Mr Franco Cocca (term of office expires 31/08/2023)
I have enjoyed a varied career of senior positions primarily in the manufacturing sector. Working around the world for brands such as Bugatti and Scania automotive. Having a skill set in operations, change management, process auditing, staff development and leadership. Driving organisational teams to become re-focused and motivated to be the best they can be. Married to Dawn, who is an LSA at a local school in my home town of 40 years, Braintree, I have often listened to some of the challenges that make up the work day. Couple this with a natural curiosity alongside the understanding that schools still need to be an efficiently run business I was keen to offer my skills to the academy to help ensure the balance of the business with the provision of best possible outcome in the form of a good education for the pupils and young adults of tomorrow.
Mr Peter May (parent governor)
Mrs Patricia May (parent governor)
This is my first role as a Parent Governor, so I am very keen to learn and support the Academy in the amazing journey that it has been on and is still building so well. Myself, husband (Peter May) and 2 eldest daughters had attended St Peter’s School and our youngest is now a pupil here. She has achieved so much because of the support and opportunities this Academy gives. I have had a variety of jobs thorough my life; including working for Access (the Joint Credit Card Company) and Fiveways both as a computer operator. I then became a Post lady and also started my Avon round. Being local meant that I could always be around for my children as they grew up which is very important for me. My Avon business has become very successful. Being self-employed brings its own challenges but also rewards (I am one of the Top Avon Representatives in the country) but it also has the added bonus of me being able to juggle parenthood, work and general life etc; to suit myself and my family.
Miss Lauren Spencer (Staff governor)
Lauren Spencer is the staff governor for Ormiston Rivers Academy. Lauren is a graduate chemist and has supported the academy over the last two and a half years as a Science teacher, Head of Year and a mentor for newly qualified teachers. Lauren’s belief is that in order for a student to flourish, it is essential for them to receive a diverse education that involves academic learning as well as opportunities beyond the classroom. As a passionate staff member, Lauren is looking forward to supporting the academy and it’s students through this role
