Understanding what the numbers mean

We use the new GCSE Numbers framework for assessing our students throughout lower school. Below is some simple guidance from Ofqual describing what the numbers mean compared to the old letter grades.

 

In Year 7 a child performing at National average will be achieving a 1

In Year 8 a child performing at National average will be achieving a 2

In Year 9 a child performing at National average will be achieving a 3

In Year 10 a child performing at National average will be achieving a 4

In Year 11 a child performing at National average will be achieving a 5
