CHARLOTTE PARSONS

Current occupation/University and course studying: Anglia Ruskin University (Chelmsford campus) Paediatric (child) Nursing Student

Any key accomplishments you have achieved:

Due to my grades from sixth form I was offered a scholarship for my first year at university. I achieved 100% in my safe medicate exam.

A brief summary of how your time at Ormiston Rivers Academy has helped you to get to where you are now:

While at Ormiston Rivers Academy the teachers I had really helped me to get where I am now. Having teachers who were always there to support and push me to achieve the best I possibly could helped me to obtain the grades I needed to attend my first choice university. Without the support of my teachers I don’t think I’d be where I am now without them. The subjects that I studied while at sixth form helped me to completely decide on my career path!

SOPHIE JENKINS

Current occupation/University and course studying: Queen Mary University of London - Studying History

Any key accomplishments you have achieved: I would say my biggest achievement would be getting into my first choice Russell Group university through gaining an unconditional offer based on my personal statement and interviewing process!

A brief summary of how your time at Ormiston Rivers Academy has helped you to get to where you are now: During my time at Ormiston Rivers, I was encouraged to aim high and strive for the University I really wanted to go to. At first, I doubted myself and was sceptical of my ability, but after countless discussions and help with my application, I pushed myself to apply for Queen Mary and it paid off! Factors such as working hard on my EPQ with the help from the Sixth Form leaders, helped me achieve the best possible grade, further helping in gaining the offer I did. Overall, the constant support and guidance helped me create the best application possible and has increased my confidence beyond A levels into my first, and now second year of my degree.
