Regional Lead Practitioner for Maths – Essex
Start date: September 2019 or earlier
Salary: Lead Practitioner pay range L6-L10 (£45,435 – £50,183)

Base schools: Ormiston Rivers Academy (Burnham) and Ormiston Park Academy (Thurrock)
Regular travel between the two academies is a necessity of the post. The region also includes academies in Peterborough so some travel there may be required.

We are looking to recruit an outstanding teacher, to work as a Regional Lead Practitioner for Mathematics in some of our highest priority schools throughout Essex.

The support you offer our leaders and teachers will be vital in ensuring that all of our schools achieve the same successes. Joining a regional school improvement team led by a Regional Director, you will use your passion, subject knowledge and expertise in Maths to drive forward the quality of teaching and learning. Based in two schools, you will model great practice through a partial teaching timetable but you will also travel around the region to coach and lead others. This in an exciting role that requires flexibility, a team spirit, and a willingness to learn and it will suit individuals who want to take a step-up and work at a more strategic level in Maths, across a range of schools.

Our expectations are high. We are aiming to ensure that all our schools show strong progress in Maths so that students can progress onto further study, university or employment of their choice.

The successful candidate will:

  • be an outstanding teacher with a proven track record of securing sustained excellent outcomes
  • have up-to-date knowledge of subject curricula and assessment requirements
  • be proficient in teaching Maths, preferably to GCE
  • have proven experience of identifying and implementing effective strategies for improving attainment in Maths in challenging schools at KS3 and KS4
  • have a highly effective style that is both consultative and influential
  • be able to demonstrate resilience, motivation and commitment to driving up standards of achievement
  • be able to work across a group of schools and show significant impact in developing capacity and improving outcomes for young people

    DATA / ICT ASSISTANT
    Required from January 2019

    Band 2 (mid-point), Point 11-14)
    37 hours per week, Term-time plus two weeks
    Actual starting salary: £14,808 per annum

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Data/ICT Assistant to join our successful and thriving Academy.

    The role will involve supporting our Data Manager and Network Manager in maintaining accurate and current data, and in supporting the use of ICT throughout the Academy, including the website and social media. The ability to communicate effectively at all levels and ensure accuracy whilst working to deadlines is essential to the role.

    The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and approachable with a “can-do” attitude and the ability to demonstrate a keen eye for detail. Previous ICT and database experience, particularly in an educational setting, would be an advantage.

    KITCHEN ASSISTANT

    Term-time only + 1 week
    8.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.
    Actual starting salary: £13,257 per annum

    We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, reliable and flexible person to join our hard-working, supportive and welcoming catering team in January.

    Duties will include preparation and serving of food to students, staff and visitors in our busy “Rivers Café”, as well as regular cleaning duties. You will work as part of a team, led by the Hospitality Manager.

    Previous knowledge and experience of catering or a working kitchen environment and working in schools would be an advantage.
